No. Create one free Gmail account for the yard (accounts.google.com/signup) and use plus addresses: johnsyard+gate@gmail.com for the gate tablet, johnsyard+steve@gmail.com for Steve. Gmail delivers them all to the same inbox, but each one is its own BreakerHQ sign-in with its own role. From 1 October 2026, permitted waste-receiving sites in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (including ATFs taking in end-of-life vehicles) must report waste receipts digitally to Defra's Digital Waste Tracking service. Scotland follows in January 2027. BreakerHQ reports receipts in the format the service requires.

Three things, all entered once in Settings → Defra setup: your Defra API code (the code Defra emails you when your Digital Waste Tracking registration is approved), your environmental permit or authorisation number, and your site address and postcode. Until they're in, booking in still works. Receipts wait for the setup.

No, CoDs come from DVLA. As the ATF you notify DVLA through their own CoD/NoD online service (there's no public API), then record in BreakerHQ that you did, and enter the CoD reference when the certificate arrives. The reference lives on the vehicle and in the evidence pack.

Yes, roles: owner, admin, gate (book vehicles in), gate + eBay, eBay only (listings, nothing legal), and viewer (read-only). You invite people with one-time links that carry the role, and every action is attributed to the person who did it.

Your yard's own eBay seller account. You connect it once in Settings. Listings carry the donor vehicle's details, and sales and payouts land with you. BreakerHQ never touches the money.

Nearly everything. Pick a part on a booked-in car and the listing is built from what the gate already knows: the title from the donor car’s reg lookup, the car’s photos, a description with the donor details, the right eBay category, and the fitment. Buyers searching for their own car see “fits your vehicle” because the donor reg is matched to eBay’s vehicle catalogue. You check the price, add a photo of the part, and tap List on eBay. If it sells at the counter, one tap ends the listing.

Hugely. eBay decides which searches a listing appears in from its category as much as its title, and buyers browsing car parts filter by part type and vehicle. A gearbox filed under the wrong category can be invisible to the people actually searching for one, however good the title and photos are. Listings in the right category also rank better in Best Match and survive category filters, so the same part in the same condition simply gets seen by more buyers.

You never pick a category. Every part in BreakerHQ's catalogue carries a hand-checked eBay category, verified against eBay's live category tree, from engines and gearboxes down to wiper blades and mirror glass. The donor reg is matched to eBay's own vehicle catalogue for fitment, so buyers searching from their car see it fits. Nothing lands in Other, which is where listings go to be ignored.
